    scared to death of transplanting

I have 7 girls in mini hempy buckets that will need to go into 5 gal buckets soon. I'm scared to death that I will either kill or injure them. Any advice or tricks of the trade? Any info is gratefully appreciated.

If you plant on transplanting into a 5 gallon hempy the best bet would be to cut away the bottom and slit the side of the old pot. Carefully place the plant into the new pot, then remove the old pot.

What are 'hempy buckets'? If those are like the fiber formed pots made from organic material simply plant them as they are 'bucket' and all into the 5 gallon pots. FWIW unless you plan on growing Christmas trees 4 or more feet high use something that is more reasonably sized. I use 8" pots that are about 8" deep - for plants that will only get 2' high.

@shovel-that's a great idea, will the perlite stay together like soil would? I've seen some videos on YouTube where they had the plant by the stem, roots dangling down and back filled it in.

No, that's not what hempy buckets are at all.

No SSDI, the perlite will not stay together, that's why you need to cut the bottom and side of the pot. Carefully place it into the new bucket that is filled up enough to have the plant at the proper level, remove the bottom, fill in around the old pot with perlite and remove the old pot. I hope you understand what I'm trying to describe here.

I got ya, I'll use a blade, slice the bottom and side, wish me luck. I'm sure I'll still have some transplant shock
