Anodized aluminum one hitter
First post here. Love the site.
My wife picked up a one hitter made of anodized aluminum. It has a spring loaded plunger to expell the ash.
So my question, is anodized aluminum bad to smoke with like everyone says about regular aluminum? Or does the anodized coating make it safer?
Thanks,

The bad press that you get about aluminum stems from the finding of high Al levels in the brains of Alzheimer's patients.
It is not known to be causative though.
The other rap is the use of aluminum foil as a screen.
It is thin enough to vaporize with high heat.
An anodized aluminum pipe should be safe to use in moderation.
Healthwise at least.
There is another issue with Al in pipes.
It is a very good conductor of heat.
The weed in contact with the metal will lose heat to the aluminum and may not get hot enough to decarb.
The design is critical because of that.
I'd say try the same amount of bud in a wooden pipe of similar size.
See if it burns more completely, cooler, tastier . . .
Let us know what you think.
