What youve heard is false. Labs practicing in the US are prohibited from performing any form of genetic testing on urine samples collected for an employment drug test. Donors facing an employment-related U/A are protected against genetic profiling under the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), which was signed into law in 2005 by then-President George W Bush and revised in 2008 to protect donors from genetic profiling by insurance companies.

With that being pointed out, any human urine sample can be used as a sub as long as the sub donor is indeed drug-free and not overhydrated.
