I just took a preemployment test at quest and I decided to substitute. My question is, if they would have told me immediately if it was too cold.

Under DHHS regulations, if the sample is outside the acceptable range of 90-100F, the collector instructs the donor to immediately submit another urine sample and under direct observation. The collector will then process and send off both samples, and indicate on the 'Remarks' space of the CFF that a re-submit under direct observation had occurred, and the reason(s) why.


If any of this has not happened to you, then you have nothing to worry about.

Thx for the info. I'm still (probably unnecessarily) worried though since the test was 23240N SAP 950/2000 +ALC and not a federally mandated drug test. Does Quest follow this dhhs procedure guideline for all its UA tests (if you can say, convince me, or show me yes than I will be even more greteful).

If the collector had bagged, tagged and sent off the sample without making even the slightest stink to you about the temp, then youre worrying yourself over nothing at this point.
The reason temp is checked is because its a "first line of defense" measure to deter individuals from tampering. Once the sample is bagged, tagged and sent in transit, sample temp is no longer a factor.

All DHHS-certified labs are under the watchful eye of the SAMHSA division (the regulatory body of the DHHS), so yes they have to follow the regulations outlined - regardless if its a 5 panel test, 9 panel, etc.
