    glad as hell to b here! what took me so long?!?!?

    New to the forum, but not to mj. Old tree huggin' hippie pothead since early 70's. I hail from the wilderness of W.Va, & I mean so far back in the mountains they didn't get electricity till the 60's! Raised farming organically, grew & made our own herbal medicines. Acquired bachelor's degree in horticulture in the 70's. Make my own compost & still prefer to grow EVERYTHING organically. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know how to grow hydroponicaly, but made me feel like I was back in the lab. I have to be close to nature to be me. In the winter I do grow me a 'quickie' in the closet, but nolonger with hydroponics, cost to much. Herb doesn't have to be expensive to grow. Even make my own insecticide, CHEAP & EASY. Plant diseases r easy to prevent, hygiene & good air flow, proper watering. Anybody want my 'anti-bug spray' recipe, just ask & I'll post it. Have a happy! :stoned:

    I can't figure that out either. Not sure which is the most stupid; me or this darned 'smart' phone! I have gorgeous pics of my plants that were stolen this yr. They're babies in the shots, about 8" tall, already branching with internodes about 1/4", VERY indica, center leaflets 2Xs as wide as my thumb. They were beautiful when they got snatched. They had started producing trichromes on the leaves as soon as they declared their sex, all girls. They would have been potent. Years of breeding lost.

    For here am I floating in my tin can, Far above the world.
    Planet Earth is blue, and thereā??s nothing I can do.
    So we sailed unto the sun, til we found the Sea of Green;
    and we lived beneath the waves, and may Godā??s love be with you.

    This is so cheap & easy, its almost stupid. Save tabacco from butts or buy pipe tobacco. Fill qt jar, cover tobacco with isopropal (spelling) alcohol, let steep a week or more, shaking once, twice a day. When ready to use, strain into gallon jug, top with water & add 1Tbs joy dish soap, non concentrate. Place in spray bottle & use. What you now have is homemade nicotine sulphate. You will need to rinse your plants well before harvest.

    Well like you, catbuds, I am damn glad to be here, and can't imagine what took this old salt so long to find it...must mean my sniffer is getting as old as the rest of me!

    I am a retired Navy NCO from way back when no random testing was done. Did my bit for the gods and country in Vietnam and everything after til I took my 30 year plan and went straight to USGS to fondle a few rocks and map some coastline. I finally decided my duty was done and moved to the beach for good! Not a medical smoker, not legal here in SC but have something of a green thumb so really am enjoying reading about everyone's efforts...

    thanks for the bug spray recipe, I have used Joy before on spider mites...the bane of my existence when ever the little buggers pop up...but never though to use old butt to help it out, Thanks!
