    Hello Smokers, Growers, & Tokers

Hey bigj here. I'm new to the forums I hope to be of help to people here and would like people to help me as well. As a matter of fact I do have a question.

I'm going to be water curing my buds and need to know the fastest way of drying my buds. I have read up alot but haven't found any useful info yet can anyone help?

I'm not a fan of nuking, toastering, ovening or hair drying my buds... Sooo with that said unfortunately I do not have a dehydrator and I figured there has got to be a way to dry my buddies faster than fanning them off.

    Any worth wile suggestions?

    Greetings!
can I ask why your gonna water cure ur bud?
If you don't rush the drying period you have no need to soak ur buds and risk mold imo.
    jus interested why is all?

water curing is faster, but that's not my main concern. I have read a lot of good things about water caring soaking out more the bad stuff and the smoke is smoother I'm not much for taste so that doesn't bother me.

Well.... The best way to dry after the water cure IS indeed a dehydrator, so.... A heater in a small room will work, I would also never use a toaster or oven for water cured buds, just because I'd be afraid to singe them. And yes, water cure is the way to go for large amounts remember your going to lose weight compared to a normal cure, so if your doing it for any reasons aside from personal, keep that in mind.

Thats one reason why i wont do it in the oven but most of all im not trying to lose anything ya know? And i know about the weight loss. trust me its just for personal. Thanks for the heater idea I might try that.

I've also seen the damp buds placed in a sealed bag and surrounded with loose silica, then they just shake the silica off - If you've ever gotten a bag with frosty white stuff that clearly isn't THC, that's the silica crap. (this is from my understanding semi hazardous to smoke though)

Quick drying will ruin your buds, you don't dry buds you cure them by controlling the time it takes for the moisture to leave the bud, 6-9 days at around 74 degrees and 40+/- humidity, then into glass for the final aging process. During the curing process many chemical reactions take place so if you dry them fast you will get a less potent bad tasting product.

I had never heard of water curing prior to this thread but after reading up on it I am curious.

It seems pretty simple, submerge buds, change water daily for a few days, dry bud normally and your good to go. No need to flush plants prior to harvest and no need for the long glass cure and burp time. Leaves the final product smoother and cleaner than standard methods. Best of all the entire process can take less than 10 days. All good selling points to me but there are cons as well.

The biggest con I saw was the loss of finish weight. One post I read on this said figure for every 1.5 grams of normal cure a water cure would yield 1 gram. This may be explained by the bud releasing more of the stuff you don't want leaving the stuff you do want in a more condensed form. The other con is the bag appeal of the water cured bud, not as pretty as the traditional method.

I may try some this fall, do a few ounces like this and the rest regular and see what happens. I found this thread explaining the process but it's on a different forum so no link from me. Just search for Green X how to's Water Curing and you should find it.
