Going to flower- tips on purple vs blue. And many vs single bulb.
Hello everyone,
I have a 2700k flowering CFL (250W, 12000lumens) that I'm using horizontal with a reflector hood.
I used this 2700k for veg as well, as i was topping up natural sunlight.
My plants are happy and reasonably bushy, but now it's coming to flowering stage, I don't think the light is sufficient even though its only 3 plants and a small 2ftx2ft space.
What CFLs would you suggest I buy?
I have been thinking of a 125W Purple which I would hang vertically in the middle of the plants, in addition to the horizontal Red with the reflector hood which is above the plants.
What are your thoughts on Purple Spectrum for flowering? (In addition to red). Should I maybe get Blue, as I can use this in the next cycle when vegging?
I don't think I need too much additional light with Vegging, but flowering I could use more.
So hence the purple- to support vegging when I next get to it, but it's good enough to assist flowering.
Anyone here with thoughts and experience with Purple spectrum? Should I stick to blue and red only?
Also- what are your thoughts on many lights vs single light?
My Red 2700k, 250W, 12000lumens is like this.
Maxibright 250w CFL 2700K (Red) : Grownow Hydroponics, Catering for all your Hydroculture and Hydroponic needs
Should I buy another large 250W like that, or should I buy a couple of small lights of ebay/amazon?
My cupboard is quoted with mylar.
what is the difference between Enviro and normal? For example 'blue' and 'blue enviro'.
Thank you everyone for your help. I have done my reading on the lights, but am not so clear with the answers for the tiny grow and only 3 plants. This is more a personal question than a general which spectrum is better. I'm asking what your opinions are on what I should spend my limited money on!
