2 year old mother in middle of veggies, soil MUST be changed, question.
Which soil medium can you recommend?
Hi all. I have a lady friend I've been working with for the past two years and has given me superb results until recently. I grow lots of veggies and herbs and though I've done cannabis a few times, my mind should have kept the growing mediums separate. I used Mad Cow 5-5-5 with another medium when she first started and supplemented that with Fox Farm products. Failing to rinse it when I harvested last, I noticed my baby going into nutrient shock s few weeks back. Rinsing it and submerging it in a 5 gallon bucket of rainwater didn't remove all the salt. I removed the bottom third of the root ball, rinsed again and made the now apparent mistake of adding my Mel's mix (square foot gardening mix of 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 vermiculite, 1/3 mix of 5 different kinds of top of the line compost) before needing to set it outside in the natural sun due to unexpected house guests that needed to stay for a bit.
Now it's obvious my girl is doing progressivly worse. I'm sure the soil medium is the problem. Considering I'm in the middle to late part of its vegetative state, can someone recommend another medium that I could use to get it through the rest of its life at which point I'll be using SubCools method?
This will be the last time I make such a rookie mistake. At least in this department
Thank you to all who read and even more to anyone that can assist me in aiding this tree of goodness.kknight Reviewed by kknight on . 2 year old mother in middle of veggies, soil MUST be changed, question. If it was indoors and you put it in full sun that's not good. That's a good mix I use it. You said you cut the root ball did you trim the foliage too, if not the plant won't have enough roots to support it. You can foliar feed with kelp, silica or vit C to help it get over the stress it went through.

When you trimmed the roots did you trim the foliage too if not it won't have enough roots to support it and taking it from indoors to direct sun is not good. She went through a lot of stress so you could give her a foliar feeding with a weak solution of kelp, silica and vit c to help her out and the soil shouldn't be the problem that's what I use.

Thank you for your reply. I tried not to get to wordy wit my post so I failed to mention I did have a week to gradually move her outside. Started off with just a little bit of the natural sunlight until full exposure ofer the course of 5 days. I did not trim the foilage prior to cutting the rootball. I have moved her back to her original home now and I thank you kindly for your advice. I'm working on your advice as we speak.
