1st Timer

Hi y'all !
This is my first time growing, in fact my first time with anything to do with cannabis !
I'm 64 and never smoked or used cannabis before, so I know very little about it.
I have chronic degenerative disorder of the spine and the drugs they give me don't work so I thought I'd give this a go on the basis that it can't get any worse and what can they do to a silly old bugger like me hahahahha

I've managed to grow one plant in my greenhouse from seed called Low Girl - a Low Rider Indicia, and it's nearly ready to harvest. Has anyone tried this brand/strain ???
I've read quite a bit about it (most very confusing and I don't understand a lot) - Cannabis FAQs / FAQ , Recipes, Medical Marijuana - was very instructive and my plan now is to

wait until 25%-40% of the trichomes (?) have turned light brown
cut the whole plant off and hang to dry for a few days
trim the trichomes off and place those and leaves (seperately) in paper bags for a few weeks
place in air tight glass jars to cure
make cannabutter to make cookies

Does that sound about right ?????? I'm open to ALL suggestions and advice

I stopped smoking 30 years ago so don't want to smoke spliffs with tobacco, so thought I'd make cookies, but what do I do with the leaves ??? I thought perhaps I'd dry them then stuff them in an old pipe or hubble pipe to smoke - would that work ?????

Well, hope someone out there reads this and can give me some good, easy to follow advices
If this works out well, I may try several plants next year of different strains

There's tons of cannabutter/oil recipes in the cooking forums...But, one plant won't get you very far.
(Try 40 plants next time)

It's just an experiment at the mo', I wasn't sure I could even grow one at all !! if it works - I will increase the numbers next time.

Hi! I hope the plant works out for you. I too have degenerative spine problems and pain so I'm on my first grow as well. It sure can't hurt! You can also use the sugar leaves for your cannabutter.

'sugar leaves' ?? are those the little ones nearest the buds ?
