    When to move light?

Hello, I'm using a double T8 fixture for my plants. As of now, they're 1 1/2 week seedlings. I can't seem to find any information as to how to do this and I'm really unsure and don't want to do anything incorrectly. So, you're not supposed to have the light far away at all, because it will stretch the plant, correct? (My seedlings currently have their two cotyledons and 3 days ago got their first two "true leaf" growing. They look very healthy, hair folicle growth is prevalent.) So what I'm wondering, is as they approach the light, with it placed at a closest distance, you obviously need to move it up, but is there a certain way to do this correctly, so they do not "stretch", yet still grow lusciously and tall? (I'm going for a tree tier, classic sativa height here) Any help is appreciated, and apologies if this is an absolutely idiotic question, thanks so much! Also, just as a little side question here, how long would be too long when waiting to flower?

Double T8 fixture?...as meaning two T8 fluorescent tubes?

You need to keep the tubes quite close on the seedlings....2-4 inches as they grow/stretch.

    ps

T8 is not enough for flowering. Add extra CFL or HID bulbs.

Oh, okay, that's along the lines of what I was thinking. Thank you so much for your help! Question, though, how long is too long before flowering? (Indicators, possibly?)

I hate to sound like "oh I already knew that, blahblahblah arrogance" but that's what I had in mind. Truly, thanks for the confirming that.

    That, and there are indicators.
When the branches stop growing 2 to a node, opposite each other.

and begin to alternate, one to a node, switching sides, it means they are ready.

You can keep them in veg. for a little while longer if you wish.
But they will then pop some preflowers.

When that happens it's best to let them flower.

    That what ya needed?
