and a simple way to help 'overwatered', wet plants is to introduce air into the root zone. If it's almost time to transplant then do so. Or, you can tap around the outside of the container, squeeze the sides and rake the top of the soil to get it to dry out quicker. The yellowing of the bottom leaves is often a sign of low oxygen (air) in the soil. One could also put an air line from a pump (like a bubbler ) down into the soil to help revive a drowning plant.
