What's Best Soil -- Happy Frog or Ocean Forest? What's your experience?

Hey all! My little plants are doing pretty well despite horrid gnat incursions I'm battling. They're almost 5 weeks old and I'm looking to the future when they'll be repotted. The soil I'm currently using is a manure/humus/perlite mix I got cheap from a hardware store, and now I'm wondering if it came with gnats already included. I'm considering trying one of the FF soils, but I'm not sure what the difference is between Happy Frog and Ocean Forest. Seems to me I read some people on here thought that OF was too hot with nutes? Would Happy Frog be better?

Do you always take a chance that gnats can be in the soil you buy, or would someone like FF have a lower chance of having them?

Some people mix an inert medium like Light Warrior in with the Ocean Forest to loosen it up and dilute the nutrients. I mix my own so I really don't know for sure what is best for you.
