So why do they choose to test for uric in some tests and not others?

There is no solid substantiation that labs are testing for this. All that exists are a bunch of anecdotes (devoid of any proof) that should be taken with a box of salt. The DOT regulations on validity testing mirrors the regulations mandated by the SAMHSA division of the DHHS (the regulatory body that oversees all practicing labs certified by the DHHS). There are no standards established for uric acid as they are for creatinine, S/G, pH, etc.

Youre worrying yourself over nothing.

Update: So no news is the best news. Last Wednesday I took the test and was sent to Quest. Used agent x 8.0 by dr. green and passed. I was super nervous for about a week, but I still have my job. Worked great in a pinch.
