reverse hermie- unidentifiable pre flowers? Opinion
Howdy Howdy lol
I thought i'd share this, see if anyone has experienced the same. I've heard of female hermie to male, and read about the reverse, showing male and having female parts-
I just threw my current grow into 12/12 lighting about a week ago, they were showing pre flowers on some- and 2 for sure were male if trying to ID by pre flower. Seeing crab claws and what appears to be the ball, definitely not the pointed topped tear shaped female part. Well.. a few days into 12/12 one of the plants showed female parts at the top! I was so confused and shocked, I pretty much posted something on a forum discussing not throwing out males just based on preflower- because obviously they aren't 100% ID based on preflower alone (I've photos if needed)
Well yesterday, I was outside (i'd moved the males outside to let them further develop to take photo's of the balls) and at the top of another "male" plant.. theres pistils... The lower preflowers all have the crab claw.. anyone else experienced this conundrum- I'm pretty good and IDing females, these were males lol- ..and now female!
I can post pics if interested. Thanks again!radmichelle Reviewed by radmichelle on . reverse hermie- unidentifiable pre flowers? I had a plant one time that had female pistils on one side and male parts on the other. Perfect 50/50. It was funny cause me and the old lady, standing on opposites side of the plant, I said male and she said female at the same time. We both looked at each other like we lost our minds until we seen what the other was looking at. I really wished I'd taken pics of that one.

defiantly, its in there with the other girls, just wondering if anyones experienced this- its the second plant of the bunch to have done this.. they are various bad seed from a local dispensary, I remember one 1/8 we bought had 2 seeds, maybe 3 if I can remember, which would explain 2 plants doing this, and they were both the squattiest indica's of the 7 I germinated- so I wouldn't be surprised if these two plants came from same crop lol

We killed it but it was weird seeing a perfect female on one side and a perfect male on the other.

If it was in my grow that would be a plant to keep an eye on but not cull until full blown indicators appear. Mainly because I suck at trying to sex em too early. haha.

LOL! right its soo weird! I learned too not to pull for the very reason- I understand that preflowers aren't 100% ID I even posted somewhere some pics of my other plant that did this as a lesson not to pull early based on preflowers alone- but I was really sure about this guy, until I was outside peeking for balls and saw hair. lol. I'm wondering if this is a reverse hermie as I've seen articles about

Hey there
just an update, a few of my plants have done this thus far, I've spotted a few balls on other plant, as in single ball- so would we say this is reverse hermie or... lol im at a loss, anyone seen this, or advice? I don't want one ball to be an actual ball so ill prob be moving it but this is just a trip?
pushit- one is kinda doing what your plant had done, 50/50 m/f on either side of plant. lol

I did have this happen to me this year. I had a bunch of ak 47 and sexed them back a few months ago. I kept the two strongest males for some cross polination. It was late winter so I left the guys out on the sun poarch and waited to grab some pollen when much to my suprise I started to see pistals on one of the males. The sacs were the classic male sacs not the typical hermie sacs. The plant was also past the pre flower stage as each node was busting out at least a six pack of sac when the pistals showed up.
