New to growing. Need advice
. Ive been doing research, but still have questions because I am finding mixed answers and I would like to plan everything out correctly before I start.
As of now, I plan on getting about 10 seeds of Dutch Passion Think Different Autoflowering Feminized seeds from Attitude seed bank.
Since it is my first grow, I would like to attempt to grow about 2-3 plants. I am ordering 10 seeds so I will have extra incase of error so I wont have to order more.
I will be growing in a closet in my house. I live alone, but a QUIET and somewhat ODORLESS grow is important.
I plan on buying the HTG 250 watt small grow tent.
HTG Supply - HTG 250w Small Grow Tent Kit
It seems to have almost everything included that I will need, but I am upgrading and adding the 4" HV fan and filter combo as well as the digital ballast.
Is this kit with the add ons my best option for an all in one grow tent kit, and will it be fairly quiet and odorless?
For the light cycle, I am still a little confused on which light cycle to use because it is an autoflowering plant. Do I use the 18/6 cycle the entire time or do I switch to something like 12/12 at some point?
For nutrients, which should I get and how often/ how much do I give the plants? Also, how much/ how often should I water the plants?
As I said, I am completely new to growing and I don't know much obviously, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!yeswecannabis90 Reviewed by yeswecannabis90 on . New to growing. the basics
1. reconsider spending good money on seeds if you can as you will probably kill a fair percentage at first and save that for once get it dialed in. at leat something to think about
2. lighting cycles- vegetative period 18 on 6 off flowering period 12 on 12 off. there are a few other variations but should start with those.
3. read...read....read.....read some more. find the middle ground as like you said everyone does things a little different and you will too. if it sounds like bs it probably is but herb is a funky plant and is capable of some odd feats.
4. ask if you dont know and cant find it anywhere there are some seriously smart bastages in here and more than likely someone will know or have and idea of where to tell you to look.

I haven't grown auto-flowering strains but I understand it's a constant lighting schedule all the way through.
That grow kit truly is complete. I'm anxious to see how you do. I expect it should work out very well.
My $.02 start your seeds in a damp paper towel, in a baggie. Keep it warm for 24 - 36 hours and when the seed cracks put it into the soil in party cup. This makes it easier to water properly. After a couple of weeks transplant into the 3 gallon bag.

Hi
With auto-flowering strains you can leave the lights on any schedule you like. Some people prefer 24/0 so as to give the plants as much light as possible. 20/4, 18/6 are also common for autoflowering, for different reasons. It can save money on electricity and some people believe they need a certain rest period. I've heard that plants focus on making energy during the day and using the energy at night so that could be true. This guide helped when I was growing weed www.thegreenpagesgrowguide.net

There is no odorless grow of this plant. When mature, they reek! Here's an example. Saw grow on a friend's property. He lived on two acres in a very secluded area, closest neighbor was 100 yards away. Single plant was grown indoors, in a garden shed. When it was budding, neighbor girls about 10 years old came for a visit. They were twenty feet from the shed and asking "What stinks?" They were told that a skunk ran into the shed. To get the odor out, you need to put a fan inline with tubing between the tent and the exterior, like a window or hole cut in a wall. Only get a tent if absolutely necessary. Otherwise spend money on other things. If you can grow in a closet, that might be better.

Also, the closet I will be putting the grow tent in is fairly large (about 10 feet deep and 5 feet wide). I am still a little concerned about temperatures in the closet though and am worried about it getting too hot or something catching fire if I keep the closet door closed. The light is 250 watts and I will have a circulating fan in the tent and the exhaust fan blowing out of the tent into the closet. Will this be a problem with the closet door closed? If so, should I find a way to run the ducting into another room? Or what would be the best solution? Ideally I would like to be able to keep everything contained in the closet for security reasons.

Yes, a filter will help. Ideally you run the air to an outside wall opening.
Anxiety over fire hazard is the price everyone pays for growing indoors. Welcome.
