    Super short Internode lengths

    Hello, First post here.
Looking for some peace of mind and hopefully some more knowledge.
My solo girl is only around 7 inches. Around 6 weeks old... Is that even close to being ok?
for its short length it has 8 nodes on it. Very healthy looking plant. Has been through hell(my girl blocked the venting and almost cooked it to death) but it bounced back and has grown into quite the lush plant.
Im running a bubbleponic setup. I suppose thats what its called. My version of what DWC should be like.

So my MAIN question is; Is it normal to be so short in Veg with So many nodes?

I'll post pictures if thats what you all need to better help me.

Oh and my light initially was a 70w HPS from Lowes. Kept close to the plant. The past two weeks I have had a 400-600w MH w/Solis Tek ballast.

sounds fine, it may have been stunted from the heat stress but tight nodes are a good thing

sounds like your first light wasn't the right one 70 watts ain't much, you get out what you put in. If you start a new plant under the new light it will out grow the midget. Six weeks and you should see feet not inches.

I agree that something is wrong. I disagree that its the light. I start veg under (3) 23 watt 6.5k CFL's and the initial stage of veg will get them to 18" before putting into the larger veg room. I also run DWC.

To hydrobro: I highly suggest filling out the form, and maybe include some pictures. Light intensity may explain the shortness, but I doubt it. I think this is a classic case of starting nutes too soon.

Man I think you may be on to something about the early nutes. Although I did EXACTLY what the Flora series told me to do.

Im going to fill the form out. More details to come.

    thx

What is your experience level? First timer

    Your Equipment:
.1) Type and wattage of lights. Started with the 70w HPS. then moved up to a 400w HPS.
    currently 600w MH.

.2) Distance from tops? 2 feet aprox
.3) Reflector type? enclosed CAP hood
.4) Is there a consistent fresh air supply? Yes have one fan pulling fresh in and another pressing out
.5) Do you have an exhaust fan and a circulation fan? yes and yes
.6) What are the bulb wattages, kelvin ratings, and schedule? 600w MH, 4200k, 24/7

    Your medium:
.7) Specific brand and type of soil. Im using Hydrocorn as my medium.
.8) Size of container. 6inch net pot.
.9) Did you use peat pucks (or similar) to root clones or germinate seedlings? I used a germination kit from lowes.

    Your nutrients and water:
    10) Source of water? (tap, bottled or filtered) What's it's ph before adjusting? Distilled, with you guessed it...perfect PH
    11) Method of checking water ph. Water test kit(drops)
    12) Method of adjusting water ph. I have PH up and down. Never use it though
    13) Specific brand and N-P-K ratio for each bottle. List dosages (quantity per gallon) and current feeding schedule. I use the flora series. Step by step. I feed 24/7 DWC. I only top feed every few hours though set on a timer.
    14) How often are you watering between feedings, and how much per watering?
    15) Any additives or tea's? (Superthrive, CalMag, molasses, Mother's Earth...) I use a CalMag supp as well.
    16) Are your ph levels stable, or do they fluctuate? Stable
    17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?
    18) Do you foliar feed? If so, with what, how often, and at what time do you spray?

    Your growroom:
    19) Indoors or outdoors? Indoors
    20) What size of closet, room or hut? My closet is 7' x 4 1/2' x 8'
    21) What are the temps and humidity levels while lights are on? ...With lights off? I stay between 75-85. I keep fresh new cooler air circulating over the plant though. However the room is a little warmer than the plants "Zone"
    22) Have you seen signs of insects in the growroom? NOPE

    Your strain:
    23) What strain are you growing? (Indica dominate or Sativa dom?) Not sure but, When I smoked this strain it felt like a great mix of the two.
    24) From seeds or clones? Seeds acquired from bud.
    25) Is this an autoflower strain? Doubtful.

That picture snuck on there. The past two weeks the plant has EXPLODED.
I couldn't get the pictures in order, But as you can see this poor little girl has come a long way. I just wonder if there is something I should or could do to make her go up. Looks like a MJ bush to me. With the constant new shoots out the top I'm certain its going to get taller. But for its age?? If I were a plant I would grow faster.

hehe - All is well, raise the light that's why we keep our seedlings different from veg stage She'll stretch towards the light, but since the light is right on top of her, she'll just keep going out instead of up

    Right on man.

For a moment there I was having my doubts.
But I looked under my net pots today and noticed roots finally coming through the sides and bottom. I also added a Small amount of this special Root growth additive a couple days ago. I plan to use that on all my new seedlings/cuttings. Seems to be doing the trick very well.

I cant wait to see the next 2 weeks!!
