Tell me more about this "damping-off". Never heard of that before, but that's exactly what happened with one of my plants

ok, google it and read wikipedia. basically it is a condition that kills young seedlings caused by a number of different fungus oro other organisms. damp and cool conditions are to be avoided to control damping off and have a successful germination.

Clarification on sprouting seeds please Okay, I've read everything I can find and when you start doing that, you find many ways people tell you to do a simple thing. And being a newb and an impatient nerd, you try them all at the same time (you try one way, 2 hours later turn around and try another way...). I've killed two seeds so far, so I'd like to keep from killing my next 3. How much root should I see on my germinated seeds before I stick them in the dirt? (I have coco pills) If the roots are curled, plant them root up? Rating: 5
