If the first test comes back failed....

Hi Guys! New Member and I some questions.

I did a lot of research on my own but did not find satisfactory answers. I was hoping someone here with first hand knowledge might be able to answer some of these. These questions pertain to a pre-employment urine drug screen.

If the first test comes back dilute, will the second urine collection (if offered) be monitored?

If the first test comes back positive and fails and one happens to test there again for a different position in the SAME company at a future date, will the second urine collection be monitored?

If the first test comes back positive and fails and one happens to test at the same lab for a DIFFERENT company, will the second urine collection be monitored?
(I am pretty sure drug test results are NOT shared with other companies, please correct me if I am wrong, but would the lab administering the test keep records of this and use it against the client?)

Do the different MRO's share information?

Do they ever make you do anything more than empty your pockets for a pre-employment drug screen? What if the first test was dilute?
Ive read that DOT jobs they go so far as to strip search you. But Ive read muddy information about clerical/desk jobs. Some clarification would be nice.

Sorry if these are obvious. Hopefully I can get some clear answers to help out future peeps as well.

If the first test comes back failed....

I just peed the other day. It had been 5 months since I last smoked. What surprised me was the automated tabletop urin drug screen analyzer. I believe it's called EMIT DAU. The special testing cup comes with indicators for "adulteration.". It checks pH, Creatinine, temp, and I don't know what else. The cup is sealed with the special lid and placed inside the analyzer where I assume the test strips are electronically read for color change (like a ua dipstick). All results are electronically submitted to the employer within 15 min. All signatures by the employee are electronic. A pretty tight procedure.

Other than a genuine negative urine at the proper temp for substitution I really don't see a way to cheat this system. Sensitive to XX level and highly specific for the metabolites being tested. I did an early morning test but not first morning void. I should've waited for a negative confirmation from my employer but I didn't....so paranoia set in. There could've been a failed transmission, a read error, power failure...who knows.

I've smoked every day since...but I keep feeling like I'm doing something wrong!!

All drug testing is monitored as it is a leagal chain of custody. Each employer pays for their own testing, results are not shared. Each request for a test even if it's the same person being tested by 10 different companies is considered a separate request so you would have to make 10 appts and submit 10 different samples.

If a test is screened as positive No further quantitative testing is performed unless requested by employer. I used to be a med tech. I don't know the specifics about the new technology that can tell if the specimen is diluted. I only know that I saw it for the first time just the other day. A real easy way to find out is to call the local hosp and ask for the lab. Ask them. They should be able to tell you everything about it even if they don't use that particular methodology. They will probably tell you what won't work to beat it.
