I don't see it that way. We were looking at the information given and expressing ideas. My ideas are no better than my growing, and my growing isn't better than some of the folks running into problems. I just had a short run because I didn't notice a cheap thermometer measuring my canopy temp was off by 13ºF. Doh! I am happy to share my bad experiences to help others from having the same problems. I'm still trying to figure it all out but after screwing around with pH measurements I'm hard core on using a quality meter and necessary calibration chemicals and brand name pH up/down. Its too inexpensive to do it right but it is expensive to do it on the cheap.

Okay, we'll compromise. Your idea was right. That kind of thing is why it's so much better to shoot for a simple grow. The more complicated a grow is made, the worse it gets. Nature doesn't struggle and neither should we. However, several things are necessary to get it right, as what everyone is trying to do with an indoor grow is create a condition that mimics mother nature. This is why I discuss the ferts I have, because you're taking advantage of nature's ability to work, only you do it indoors. And yes, I suppose that accurate temp measurement is important, what with hot lights around. Complicating this is change in outdoor temps that can really screw things up. It's got to be easier to grow in a cold climate.
