I live in a duplex apartment and I am growing two plants. I changed them over to a 12/12 cycle about a week ago and now they stink so bad it's not even funny, I had no idea two plants can produce so much odor, and they're not even budding yet. I am on a very tight budget and cannot afford a carbon filter. The room I'm growing in is right next to my neighbors, who are just on the other side of the lathe wall. I put thick plastic over my closet door and taped it off so no smell would bleed into my neighbors house. I have the odor under control outside of the room using ammonia, works okay, but my question is how do I eliminate the smell in the grow room? I'm getting really paranoid that my neighbors will smell it and call my landlord and/or the police.

I use carbon filters... but I've heard that laying out charcoal in your room will absorb the orders...worth a try...after all that's basically what's in a carbon filter

Use those stinking Glade or Fabreze plug in air fresheners. Try to put them where the neighbor or visitors will smell it and not yourself. Right? Some of them smell wicked strong, some not so. Ona is a line of air freshener products you can order from hydroponic warehouses etc. that work well.

For your grow room I'd pick a subtle Fabreze linen or spring air. Other fav is tropical or coconut, smells like babes on the beach. If your neighbor smells ammonia or thinks it's a chemical you may expect a visit. If it's just fruity or flowery they'll just think you're candy-assed and won't bother you.

that sucks but you can always grow more.

Yeah it sucks big time, they only had 3 weeks to go, so I picked 'em and dried 'em out in the microwave to fry the mites. Yielded 7/8 oz. after drying in microwave, and the potency just isn't there. I don't think I'll grow any more in this duplex, too paranoid.
