we all want to know if they are male or female but they dont want us to know until they want to show it. young plants are sorta shy that way. they wait until they get bigger, closer to flowering time at the earliest. it also depends on the strain and other conditions. there is a lot of good reading around here so start searchin.

google images, male and female plants, the boys have nut sacks under there branches, the girls have hairs, rule of thumb for topping is 3rd node high, iv had good results from topping at the 1st true leaves so what eva works. good luck
