I have not personally run lamps vertically. But I know folks and have seen how it is done. It certainly can grow as well as a horizontal set-up. A fan is always good to have on the grow. Also You'd do well in either a tent or a structure of reflective material that can enclose the light around the plants. I do this with horizontal HID lamps with T5HO side lighting. I cut 4' x 4' sheets of cardboard into 2 x 4 panels and either cover with mylar or paint white.
Welcome to where ever we are.

Lighting Question I have two OG Kush plants going (One is a clone, about 10 inches tall, the other started from seed), and for the first two weeks I had them under a 75-watt HPS 'floodlight' I picked up from Home Depot. After reading a few books, and articles on growing, I decided to modify my light to mount vertically, without a reflector. From what I read I can get a better yield going this route, as opposed to the horizontal setup I was using, but I have never grown with a vertical-mount HPS before, and Rating: 5
