Thoughts about this study regarding using creatine to mask a diluted sample
The dilution thread above suggests using creatine will mask the effects of dilution by raising one's creatinine levels. I found a study that seems to suggest creatine supplements have no effect on creatinine levels. Any thoughts?
Effect of Oral Creatine Supplementation on Random Urine Creatinine, pH, and Specific Gravity Measurements
"This short-term study investigated the effects of oral creatine supplementation on urinary creatinine, pH, and specific gravity values. Individual plots of all discrete urine specimen values did not reveal any apparent effect of creatine administration on these measurements. In conclusion, these data suggest that oral creatine supplementation administered at recommended daily doses does not influence routinely used urine integrity tests."ringle101 Reviewed by ringle101 on . Thoughts about this study regarding using creatine to mask a diluted sample
"The objective of this part of the study was to determine
whether creatine supplementation could increase the amount
of creatinine in human urine specimens even after hyper-hydration. People undergoing mandated drug screening sometimes consume a large volume of water prior to testing in an
attempt to wash away the presence of illicit water-soluble drugs
in the body. The tests showed that over the course of an 8-h period the creatinine concentration declined consistently without
any significant elevation even in participants who took creatine"
