Flowering too early?
What you see there is normal growth.
Those tiny tufts in the petiole crotch will become branches in good time.
The reddening of the stems can be strain specific, but it can also indicate a low PH.
What you need now is patience.
While you are waiting, I suggest you use the time to look into the first link in my signature.
