AK48 grow log

I started this grow 2 months ago...sorry for not starting from the beginning.

So here is what you missed since my first grow...
I ordered my seeds from Nirvana again and this time I got 5 feminized AK48 seeds. I have read nothing but good things about this strain and I wanted to try it. I recieved 10 freebies (unknown strain) with my order. When I got the seeds I threw them in a glass of water for 2 days until the seeds germinated. (I love this method btw) Its easy and idiot proof. I have about a 90 percent sucess rate of germination this way maybe 2 seeds didnt germinate out of 30ish seeds.

I vegged my plants under the same CFL set up that I had durring my first grow until I could afford a better grow light. I bought some mylar for my walls and I got a 400 watt cooltube light on Amazon for really cheap and it works great.

The first week I had my hps/mh light on the plants grew a ton. I vegged the plants for another 2 weeks under my new grow light. The plants have been flowering for about a week. I also started a new nute schedule. I am still using the lucas formula but I have been adding CalMag to every watering not feeding. I dont want to overdue it on the nutrients. I also bought some Molassas and some open sesame by fox farm. I will also be using Cha Ching and Beastie Bloomz according to the fox farm feeding schedule.

I have been researching a ton on different grow techniques and I have decided to give my plants co2 using the boiling water and dry ice method. They seemed to enjoy it when I did it. I will only be doing that once a week and see how it works.

I have 5 female Ak48...2 female freebies...and 5 female bag seeds that I got from someone who told me the smoke was great.
I have a veg room and a flowering room. I have the freebies and the AK48 in the flowering room. 7 plants under 400 watt HPS light. I know thats not enough light for the plant so I added a few hundred watts of CFL lights. I plan to harvest the freebies really early because I ran out of smoke a few weeks ago and I dont want to be tempted to take the AK48 early.

I've pushed up to a dozen plants with one 400 watt hps and harvested over a lb. It's enough light for a sq meter of 3' x 3' space.
I've also supplemented with florescent side lighting (4) 4' T5HO).
Recently I'm running (2) 400 watt MH/HPS with the side lighting. I've got 14 plants finishing up soon (in Week 11 Bloom cycle)
Eight of them are AK-47, mostly sativa dominant.

I'm VERY impressed. You started with probably one of the most GHETTO setups I've seen, and you've turned it into this. I'm PROUD to say :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Now get a vent and fan on that cooltube, cuz right now it's just a waste :P

Makes me feel better about my yield this time. I only got 3 oz out of 12 plants last grow due to the cfls

Thanks low rdr made me laugh. Even tho it was a ghetto setup it still cost me 800 dollars.
I didn't want to go all out on my first grow cause i didn't know how i would do and i didn't want to waste a bunch of money. Smoke was great i def have a good future in growing.

I do have a fan and filter in the closet but Im moving soon and i didntt want to add a vent
Or ducking to my closet. The heat isn't a problem at all honestly. I was surprised how little heat this light produces.

wow i forgot all about starting this post. the grow went well and the smoke was great. prob
my favorite grow so far. i have had 7 harvests since i started growing in October. still upgrading
and i have learned so much. i will attempt to load some more pics from my phone so
everyone can see how it turned out.

well its not letting me upload anymore but i will get on my laptop at some point to load some pics.

i harvested just a little more then 7 oz total from the 5 ak48 plants. one of them
was a dwarf the whole time. knowing what i know now i would have cut my losses from that
one before i put it into flowering. Im still stuck on 1.5 oz per plant. i can't seem to get over that
hump. i have upgraded my pots, lights, grow medium, grow technique and grow room. i keep
upgrading until i get the most out of my girls. Im working with clones now so i can see if the
changes i make are actually working. next step for me is to start using co2 and buy better
light bulbs.

its a great strain i really enjoyed it and so did everyone who tried it. very dense
smells like berries. i flushed with molasses and it make the flavors really explode.
