I am here in Washington DC at the National Unity Conference sponsored by Americans for Safe Access. The conference brings health care professionals, patients, activists and general community members together to not only disseminate the latest information on the medical uses of cannabis, but how to organize to make medical cannabis widely and easily available.

The conference culminates on Monday, Feb. 25 with hundreds of conference participants visiting with their elected congressional representatives. This type of action is truly needed as only when we solve the political problems behind marijuana prohibition will the benefits of cannabis to the health of our communities be fully realized.

I am honored to be making a presentation at the Conference on the panel entitled Bringing Medical Cannabis Politics into the Mainstream. I will be speaking about the Brownie Mary Democratic Club explaining how we can integrate mainstream politics into cannabis policy by including medical marijuana and law reform advocates in the political process.

Although ASA has provided me with lodging at the conference, I still have to pay my own expenses in flying to Washington DC, for meals and other incidental expenses. I have put these expenses on my credit card and if any of you supporters out there can help me cover those expenses when the credit card bills come due next month, I would sure appreciate it. To help me out, go to our PayPal Donation Page by CLICKING HERE. Thanks â?? I sincerely appreciate whatever help you can provide.

Religion and cannabis will be the focus of the 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25 broadcast and simulcast of our exciting radio show Marijuana Compassion and Common Sense. Never had a show quite like this one before.

Our first guest is Michael Machadee who will be speaking about cannabis and the Bible. Thereâ??s a lot more in that book about cannabis than just bringing forth the seeds of the earth and Michael will tell us all that there is.

Our second guest is Rev. Tom Brown who as a Rastafarian sought to have a table at an Interfaith Day of Harmony. It didnâ??t quite turn out so harmonious including a visit by police.
