MULCH???
can mulch be used in outdoor guarilla growing if so what should i use for mulch (pine needles, grass wood shavings, or plack blastic)
because i am growing in a 5 gal and was just going to cut a hole in the lid just enough for the plant to grow through and a bit more space to fatten up( will this work the same?)
p.s. i have holes drilled in the side above the soil level for airation
i have tryed grass in the past but didnt seem to cut down on watering i dont think it was a thick enough layer
my other consern with using mulch is can i sufficate the soil that will cause root rot or mold??
just trying to find ways to cut back on watering iam curently catching water but still isnt going to be enough
dont have any rivers or lakes to put in a drip so any suggestions will be appriciated!!!!growhand420 Reviewed by growhand420 on . use coco coir for a mulch. It helps retain water. Also an inverted 2 liter pop bottle full of water in the pot will help prolong moisture content.

MULCH???
yes i have heard of pine being to acidic
but the pine needles on the very bottom of the foliage has been sitting for a couple of years so it has a nutraul ph
but i need to know if my lids will act as a bearier from the sun to prevent evaporation since the sun evaporates 80% of all the water from the rain

pine is always acidic even after years of composting. its from the pitch which is not water soluble. its the stuff they use for paint thinner among other things.
