Trying to get clean

Hi, I found out I'm pregnant and since then have been trying to get clean. I have abstained from smoking for 19 days now and yesterday took a home test and failed it. I am currently about 4 months pregnant..5'3 and 140 lbs..now having a baby belly. I was a regular user, smoking daily. My first apt is 6 days away and I'm hoping to be clean by then. I don't know if it'll be a urine test or a blood test. Any suggestions or words of encouragement that i may just need a few more days then I'll be clean?

Are you having a drug test, or prenatal care?

prenatal care doesn't do drug screens, they just do the scans needed- Test your blood for abnormalities and things that can hurt the baby.

My wife is 7 months along, and a daily smoker (no long term or short term effects on the fetus) but it does help indubitably with nausea If your just trying to get clean for a job - Then you might want to sub.

This doctor does do drug testing for every ob patient. Not sure if its urine or blood but I know I will be tested.

Then I'd get a new doctor. Easy enough solution.

I am in Louisiana, this is my third child and for my first I was tested for Marijuana..second pregnancy wasn't, but this time I know they are drug testing. They definitely will include marijuana in the test..it's the most popular thing around here. I was unable to get my same doctor from last time unfortunately. I failed a home test yesterday after abstaining for 18 days and I'm just worried I will fail at the office next week. I had OCS involved my first pregnancy..but quickly was able to pass all their expectations. I don't want them interfering again. Hopefully I can test negative before then!

ok got meself spanked for mentioning.....things i shouldnt have (a thousand pardons oh toasty one). anyway that was quite a while ago like i said and every state is different. i guess maybe look into subbing or see if you can put the test off for a couple more weeks maybe?

Pregnant woman can't sub..but I'm thinking that I will take a few more test and if I need to I will put off my apt. I am trying not to do so bc I am late into my pregnancy and its important to get prenatal care. Thank you for your input!!

When testing yourself, be sure to use the first urination of the day when THCA concentrations would be at their highest. By using your first urination, youre testing yourself under a "worst-case scenario". If youre consistently testing negative under that "worst-case scenario", youre good to go. :thumbsup:

Ok. I'll do that starting tomorrow. The test are only a dollar so I'll pick up a few. I wonder if I should also drink alot of water and take another test to see how that turns up?

Drinking alot of water would dilute the THCA concentration that is present in your bladder to where the urine sample would register a negative on the home test (or even the assays used at the labs, and providing that the THCA concentration is not too high). This dilution phenomena, however, is only temporary - once the fluids youve ingested had all been urinated out, the bladder is replenished with fresh THCA-laden urine by the kidneys....back to square one.
