cfl mounting/hanging question
The way my cab build is going, I had plans to hang my lights vertically with a bat wing type of hood, from what I've read I found that most have em horizontally, for the reason they produce most of there light in the center.
If I follow that rule, im going to have to change my lighting setup. My question is. Will it make that much of a difference?
Question : for the bat wing hood I'm using a piece of ventilation pipe that is shiny silver metal in color. Would it reflect more if I were to paint it gloss white? Most of the floro tube light fixtures I've seen have gloss white hoods/reflectorsBrown thumb Reviewed by Brown thumb on . cfl mounting/hanging question The way my cab build is going, I had plans to hang my lights vertically with a bat wing type of hood, from what I've read I found that most have em horizontally, for the reason they produce most of there light in the center. cfl mounting/hanging question
Hey man I am pretty new myself. On my first grow with CFls, Honestly I had 4 sprouts under CFls 2 horizontal and the other 2 vert I prefer vert myself. My thoughts vertical seems to spread the light instead of focus on a certain point. Really it is personal preference. For the hood idk about that haven't had to use one as of yet, but white verses metal can't be that big of difference. Buy a mirror cut strips and hot glue the, together for 100% reflection. Just my input good luck growing

cfl mounting/hanging question
potters thanks for the reply, i was actually just playing around with my light setup. i have 6 sockets screwed on to a 2x2 piece of wood. i rotated it around testing a few angles. i found that angling the lights at a 45 degree angle they will direct more light right under them. vertically was the second best and horizontally was directing the least amount of light.
with that being said. im going to stick with my initial plan and mount them pointing straight down for my first grow. then i will add light splitters and more lights for optimal lighting, as the splitters will angle the lights where you want them.
