Chemistry:

Naphtha is Naphtha.
It is not a mixture of other hydrocarbons.
It is an nonpolar solvent that is hydrophobic.
Yes, cheap, paint thinner kine Naphtha may have some hexane in it.
But given my druthers, I'd druther use hexane anyway.

I'm very low budget here so starting out with a simple Naphtha extraction was key.
When I found that this crude extraction was working on prostate cancer, I got serious about it and found Graywolf's work.

Whole new world.

Started using iso when the local H.D. ran out of Naphtha, but the best I could find was 91%.
Dealing with the water is a pain in the butt.
Hard freezing the bud locks up the chlorophyll though and still yields amber oil.

Found that I could still detect the iso smell after heavy purging.
And getting every trace of naphtha out was very difficult as well.
Did not like that.
So, switched to Ethanol.
Best we can get here is 151 proof.
So, I bought a still and re-distilled to ~185 proof.

Because Ethanol and Isopropyl alcohol are polar solvents they will pick up water soluble fractions and Chlorophyll.
I say it that way because, strictly speaking, Chlorophyll is not water soluble.
(There is a wonderful paper on the Pharm that details the twisted path it must take to get into our oil. )
Freezing the bud and working quickly leaves it behind as you have stated.

Interesting observation.
Left the dross in a coffee filter after extraction.
When it thawed out, the paper turned bright fluorescent green.

Bottom line?

When it's as pure and sterile as it's gonna get, I put it in 500mg. capsules and administer them to a Glioma patient and a P.C. patient.
The glioma patient is 9 months after de-bulking and there's still no growth.
He's gaining weight and grinning a lot.

The P.C. patient is 6 years symptom free and stopped losing weight on the first week.
PSA tests show marked slowing of the doubling rate.
Might not "cure" him at the present dosage, but it will give him 20 years.
He's an old farts, says 20 years are "plenty".
Soon as I have enough oil, I'll double his dosage and hopefully, reverse the PSA readings, just for peace of mind, yah?

There's no contention here, we're all after the most effective medication we can produce.

And one man's "recreational" use is another man's self "medication" of a mood disorder, yah?
