So I'm new to the forums and since there is a section on concentrates I'm sure a number of people have put out a qwiso guide but this is my main smoking method and might have a few things to add so here goes.
Start by locating 99% iso (if you follow this guide completely it doesn't matter how much water is in it) so put your alcohol and weed in the freezer overnight. Don't grind the weed for best oil, also I put all filters and other tools in freezer overnight. The container used to evaporate oil should be warm to avoid condensation. Its called quick was for a reason I shake 10 seconds or so and only do 1 wash. After that has evaporated your gonna redissolve it in everclear or strongest alcohol you can find. Put that in the freezer and the fats will drop out and create cloudy alcohol after day or 2 this process is called winterizing and should be the last step for those who don't want the most pristine extract. Good qwiso isn't simplydissolved and evaporated and called done! Next for those of us more advanced we will take the extract and mix it with equal parts hot hexane and salt water and shake. You will see resin floating up top that's the good stuff now if your cool enough to have a seperatory funnel more power to you but I use a ziplock bag and put hole in corner to let water flow out but not hexane do this until emulsion layer is gone by adding more saltwater. Evaporate hexane and you can do a thin film vaccum purge or another everclear wash to completely get rid of traces of hexane. Well I'm no writer so I hope that was easy to understand. You now have a bell clear extract vs oleoresin. It is full melt and kind of a pain to smoke. I think this would be an easier red with some spaces oh well I'm gonna go hit that qwiso in my vape

For real yall! I been readin all these people smoking that "rick simpson oil" I have never heard of him and his method is similar to mine... Just crap! Why would you smoke that nastiness, your qwiso should be amber gold to red depending on how pure it is, if its green or hopefully never brown black there's too many contaminates in it. I am quite saddened this rick simpson fellow teaches to make low quality hash. Forgive the rant and as I know nothing of this guy so I may be misslead if so share. As to healing properties I can attest to it removing or helping surface tumors ie throat , skin

Ahhh! I deleted my rant!! Well here goes again. I've been reading on this site a number of people use this "rick simpson" oil. I've never heard of this guy but his method is similar to mine just crapp. When you smoke qwiso it should evaporate clean and leave no waxy film in your mouth (this is horrible for your lungs) also it should be a golden amber to red depending on contaminates. It should never be green certainly not black or dark. It will also be a liquid! And no amount of whipping will change that so don't ask about budder. Whew anyway got that off my chest. I am deeply saddened this rick simpson fellow is teeching you to make such low quality hash.
But should I be completely off I apologize. As to healing I can attest to it helping surface tumors ie throat and skin. Haha my post popped up

It would be a good idea to google Rick Simpson before you get to ranting.

His extraction methods are adequate to the task
Simpson oil is not recreational, it is not smoked and seldom vaped.
And, for some medical problems increasing purity is counterproductive.

I respectfully suggest that arrogance impedes one's education.

Alright weezard you are 1 of a number of members I have high respect for. I'm new to the forums but have been reading them for a couple years. I don't wish to make myself look like an arrogant ass but I have to disagree with you. I looked him and his oil up and I still don't understand? Maybe you or someone else can chime in.
He says that the medicine is the cannabinoids present, yet he talks about boiling off most of the ethers and aromatic turpins. It would seem to me you would want all the goodness which is why qwiso gets highest reviews for aroma. He also says you can just get paint thinner to do the extraction, this is highly unadvisable naptha is a mix of hydrocarbons and one of them being hexane which is why it will do good ( I suggest hexane) but naptha is not pure. I always use lab/food grade chemicals. And he says not to worry if there is residue as the resin will neutralize its poison? Please don't listen iso naptha butane will all cause serius harm if ingested. Nothing will be neutralized. Well that's all the things I can think of right now. If this medicine is for ingestion purposes you DO want it pure. I suppose if its for topical purposes it doesn't matter.

qwisoking what are you basing your conclusions on? do you have studies or other research that suggests these things. ive looked around quite a bit, im no chemist or medical professional, but i havent found anything regarding
any tests or research about the traces left behind in oil under various different processes. my guess, and thats all i have but i think its fairly close to accurate, is that the amounts are so miniscule that you probably pick up larger amounts from
just breathing or eating. the other side of this ugly coin is that you are condemning a process it seems you dont understand or arent involved in. if im wrong i apologize but that is how it appears to me. the bottom line is if it helps, relieves, or saves, as it appears to, anyones symptoms or lives then so be it. chemistry is weird stuff the combination of a certain level of impurities and the chemical makeup of the oil may produce a new compound that no one has seen. if you have info that suggests otherwise i think everyone here would want to read it i know i would.

Unfortunately this process is my life. Why don't you google skunkpharmllc and read through their Pages, graywolf is quite knoweldgable and could better answer questions. I'm not good at rebutting ideas, but I don't think I need to provide an mds sheet showing ppm sensory threshold vs when you lose hearing or feel side effects (this is for iso) the data sheets are readilly avaiable online though. As to research that shows my ideas.. If you look up what the di-terpenes and esters do you will see there is a correlation to the things he says it may heal.I'm sure his works fine. Bottom line is the only way to purge your solution is a etoh wash or a thin film vaccum. If I can clarify more just ask. I apologize if I'm still sounding arrogant. Its frustrating though, look at the holy annointing oil or holy shit on their page it would be just as or more affective. I guess at this point all there is to say is somehow him and his method got famous and may not be scientifically based like mine but it will work. And if you have been cured god bless. I have had a number of family members get breast cancer its hard to watch. my point is exactly that, if it works dont shoot it down. I wasnt questioning your process vs another or its results. i have checked those sites and i dont recall any definitive info regarding side effects of any kind from residual compounds its all still speculative.
frankly it does come across as a little arrogant, and im not trying to be mean or anything, when you make a post 1. purporting to have the process to beat all others without facts to support it 2. post casting doubt on another process that is documented as much as any has been recently and its results so far appear to speak for themselves. dont misunderstand me but when it comes to people lives and their health, yeah i think an msds sheet would be applicable and any other data you or anyone could provide. this shouldnt be about whos right and whos wrong, just about gathering as much research as possible to come up with better and more effective options thats all. i hope you understand where i am coming from. if you have been successful thats awesome and i wish nothing but the best for you. again if you know of some factual data regarding the side effects of residual solvents used in the making of oil i would be very interested in reading it.

Well I have nothing to say as far as proof residuals will harm you I supose if dumb kids can go around inhaling the stuff you will be fine. I see that I'm getting off on the wrong foot here, I'm new and wish to make friends vs enemies. All I can say is I give my loved ones (my mom sadly) nothing but the best.
