seem to be getting over the worst of the ph problem so far at least. ill know for sure in a week or so. growing much nicer as opposed to not so much.

pH of 9.0 ? WTF is that all about? That isn't going to work. Cannabis needs slightly acidic soil, 9.0 is 100 times more alkaline than 7.1 pH. What is making the pH so far off?

my water is at 9.3 its set by the state and city. they say it keep the metals content down.(i originally had read something about microbes but that was wrong) i think chloramine has some effect on the ph staying high not sure what else besides salts. weird thing is i take straight tap water at 9.3 do nothing to it and the run off is in the 5's. take that same tap water and add vinegar to it so it registers at 6.5 and the run off is in the upper 7's and climbs. water sitting in a jug that has been adjusted will start to climb. water that hasnt will drop to maybe 8.8 -8.9 and stays there. the other thing i have to consider is the only thing i know about this batch is that it comes from northern mexico. may not mean much too most but it does to me because i know the soil there is alkaline sometimes to the point of being toxic. I'm going to try using a more stable buffer and see if i can bring the run off up to maybe upper 6's or so. right now they improved since i stopped filtering and adjusting the ph down but seem like they need a little more. time will tell.

dolomitic lime can be used for ph buffer. I think I would find a soil that I could keep at a consistent ph, and re-pot.

Vinegar; When I experimented with Vinegar; My conclusion was that is was unstable as a ph buffer, constantly needing adjustment. After a while I feel you are hurting the plants with all that vinegar.

9.3, wow, most cities do set the pH at 7.5 -8.5 to keep calcium deposits and corrosion down but 9.3 is a huge difference of alkalinity. Do you have any way to get some better water? A friend with a well or right out of a river?

nah not really rain or snowmelt is pretty toxic here. transporting it isnt practical for me either. so far its looking like the higher ph may be exactly what i need. once i stopped adjusting it down they started turning around. i think because they came from fairly alkaline conditions thats why im having problems. i have some good ph up coming so we'll see what that nets me.

i tried lime and had some problems with that too but not sure what else may have been going on. totally agree about vinegar had nothing but problems never mind its kind high in sodium also.
i got some good ph up and down now so i should be able to get it stabilized hopefully. im also going to try to rework the pot its in by cutting out sections on the sides and gluing mesh over it so the roots get more air.

5 weeks and they seems to be rounding the corner. the higher ph is helping and ive added some calmag. it goes in at 9.8 9.9 comes out at 6.6 or so. weird shit. definately growing much nicer. they are all filling in underneath the larger one especially.
ill give the another week or so or until they get around 2 feet and pop them over to flower.
