Ants always take my seeds
put the seeds in a pot outdoors.
use a tray an inch full of water.
sit a brick in the middle of the tray, so that the top of the brick is above the water line.
sit the pot with seed/s on the brick.
Ants cant frigging swim!!!!!
You should avoid insecticide, as you will be smoking/ eating your buds, and you can get very sick.
I have observed ants scammin round my seeds. I suspect they remove lighter, hollow seeds because of their high protein. They seem to leave my bigger blacker seeds because they are too heavy to carry. So make sure the seeds you use are of the best quality.
I've never had a major problem with them. The bastards do like herding aphids and scale up into my plants (usually in their second season ) but the slight damage they do seems to stress my 'girls' nicely, improving the resin content.
sinking pots in the ground can help, as Ive observed the sun hitting black plastic pots provides enough heat to attract ants (and during a hot summer that heat will roast the root system)
I bin growin outdoors for a while now and this works for me
hope this helps
