been reading some conflicting stories regarding light in the green waves. some claim they wont affect plant growth or cause hermies others do.
just curious if anyone has any definitive info about that.

many growers think the green spectrum has some usefulness :thumbsup:

any lights in the 4000k range will some green wavelength

thanks Dp i was just curious if a small faint green led in my grow room is gonna cause problems.
I going with it will but i have read that it wont matter and i have read that will. very confusing especially when they sell
green led grow room bulbs so you can work with the lights off.
my lights are both led so as far as i can tell no green leds.

I remember researching this a while back and i found some info on the green wavelength.. Plants dont "use" the spectrum for growth directly, and thus it is typically safe to have a solid green light on in your grow room when the lights are off (green LEDs included). But... when the lights are on the green is said to help the plant use light more effectively. Some of the more expensive LED grow lights are starting to incorporate green into the spectrum mix because of this.. I personally just bought a few Blackdog Micro-U lights that have a few green bulbs.. The seem to be working really well! Im at about week 5 of flowering and they are easily keep pace with my 1000w hps for quality and density of bud.. Intersting stuff the science of light!

cool i thought it might be something like that. i have a blackdog 360 in my veg tent(just got it) and 700 in my flower tent. i couldnt see the greens at first but i could see it when the light would reflect off something.
havent gotten to see them really do their stuff yet since i have had va bunch of soil and ph problems but i think i have that all ironed out so we'll see. i have friend who has a few also and they work killer for him.

Ahh yes.. the dreaded PH issues... I have always used Sunshine #4... Ph is pretty much perfect for seedlings if you use just plain tap water for the first week or two.. I have a few plants that I am trying in Coco... I have heard it dries really quickly.. which works well if you water small amounts daily (which I HIGHLY recommend!), and the Ph was a little high.. I was reading 6.8.. I prefer between 6 and 6.5 for this type of medium :-)
