    Ballast question

    I have a ballast that's has 250v 600w does that mean i can use a 600w hps bulb in it?

    Ballast question

    It should say either MH (Metal Halide) or HPS (High Pressure Sodium).. you will want to match your bulb to your ballast type.. some of the newer ballasts are switchable and will say so right on it.. either way.. you MUST always match HPS to HPS and MH to MH.. unless you have a conversion bulb.. Also.. if you live in North America.. you will need to run that off of a 240v circiut.. It wont run properly (or perhaps not at all) on a standard house plug if its wired for 250v. Cheers!

    Okay thanks for the info!can I run a lower wattage hps bulb or is every hps bulb/ballast required that nonstandard circuit?
