Although it sounds nice, large plants are a pain in the butt to maintain. I've had 12 footers that produced less than shorter 6 footers of the same genetics. I tried it as an experiment a while back just to see. I don't remember the strain, sorry. One plant left untopped, untrained and another topped, fimmed etc. Both in the ground. Vegged equally and fed the same.
The shorter, bushier plant had fewer problems and produced more finished product than the tree.

I don't like the idea of having to get an orchard ladder to check for mold or to maintain the plant. Or having to get 12 foot boards to use as supports on tall plants. All in all, its not worth the extra effort. Plus larger, taller plants are a bit more obvious to any rippers than shorter bushes.

Just my two cents worth.
