wacky questions I want to ask about MJ!

    Hey people.

I want to ask if anyone has tried to grow a massive plant before. I mean...what if you had the ability to veg the plant for years on end. Imagine if you had money to throw around and you bought yourself a sports stadium and planted one plant in the middle. You hung a 1kW light from the rafters and dropped it right down to the baby plant and just kept inching up as it grew. Could you eventually grow to the height of the stadium? I guess?

I seen some videos of people growing 14' plants outdoors with tree stumps the size of my head, but if you had the means and could give light to every single leaf..how tall could it grow? It would be a beast!

    -----------

Second question is from an evolutionary standpoint. MJ is found all over the world..do we know where it really originated? Was it as far back as the Pangea or did "man" move this plant around the world?

    ------------

Third...I am assuming MJ still grows in the wild...I havent seen it, but hey...I would assume so....what exactly happens? What is the lifecycle? Does it just veg/bloom, de-leaf itself in winter and die or does it stay there and reveg when the following spring/summer comes along..if so..why haven't we seen MJ plants the size of those massive pine trees?

I look forward to your answers!

ive heard of 19-20 footers in hawaii and jamaica. I suppose with genetic manipulation and the right facility you could get more. i would think though the better option would be to find a way to produce larger trichs.
could you imagine if they were the size of a grape?

they do die at the end of fall i have seen wild stands they do their normal thing dump a ton of seeds and grow back. thats why they dont get the size of sequoia trees. they also have a limit to vegging i believe.

Although it sounds nice, large plants are a pain in the butt to maintain. I've had 12 footers that produced less than shorter 6 footers of the same genetics. I tried it as an experiment a while back just to see. I don't remember the strain, sorry. One plant left untopped, untrained and another topped, fimmed etc. Both in the ground. Vegged equally and fed the same.
The shorter, bushier plant had fewer problems and produced more finished product than the tree.

I don't like the idea of having to get an orchard ladder to check for mold or to maintain the plant. Or having to get 12 foot boards to use as supports on tall plants. All in all, its not worth the extra effort. Plus larger, taller plants are a bit more obvious to any rippers than shorter bushes.

    Just my two cents worth.

wacky questions I want to ask about MJ!

    Hi..

Im planning an outdoor grow this year, for the first time.. Ive read up a lot on how to germinate the seeds and getting them started and all that. I have one big problem though, I am going to america from June to end of august!!

Is it possible to start off a healthy plant indoors, plant it outdoors around early to mid april and look after it until I leave in June? Will it survive by itself for the summer months if it is planted in a good location with good soil or does it need attention?

Also, what seeds would you suggest I use, examples for highest potency and highest yield ?

I heard about a guy who planted two seeds in Dublin area, never gave them any attention after first 3 weeks and returned in august to find 6ft tall plants producing 6 ounces each ?

Any info or suggestions welcome, please comment and give me some help with this as im a bit nervous that I will come home in september to find out I wasted my time and money..

well, it's a weed. it should do fine on it's own if you give it a good start. Most important is to till a very nice size hole for the plant(s), as big as you can. Mulch around it so that it won't have to compete with other weeds.

"how tall could it grow? It would be a beast!"

    Sounds good, but, not happening.

The tallest I've seen was some 20' hemp in Nebraska, followed by 18' dank in Hawaii.
    The problem is senescence.
    Weed is an annual.

Momma plants can be kept for quite a while, but they all, eventually, flower and die.
I have kept one under 24 hour light and it still went alternate, meaning it's ready to flower, after several months.
So, it's fun to think about, but mother nature runs this game.
There is more going on that just photoperiodicity.

    I agree with Random999.
Huge trees are a pain in the butt.
But with our limits of 3 mature gals per patient, we are forced to grow big here.

    Aloha,
