One of the reasons that soil growers use smaller pots at first is so the plant can fill the small pot with roots, and start growing upward earlier than if planted in a larger pot, where roots take longer to fill. Also I find that seedlings do not like a hot soil. I usually use something like FFOF mixed with coir on the 2 or 3 inch starter pots. When the seedlings have established roots, and are ready to repot into larger homes, then I can plant straight into a potting mix like Fox Farm Ocean Forest.
DO NOT attempt to feed seedlings, as you can do more harm then good by burning them with excess nitrogen that they do not need at this point in their lives. They can get all they need out of the potting soil. I personally do not add any nutriants at all until after I flip to 12/12. as the soil I use has everything it needs for the first 6 weeks of its life.

Just my own opinion
yeah i only fed it a full amount once,i didn't think it would need any food that young, the High Times magazine grow issue i have been reading told me to just add a drop to the water i feed it with, and it should be way bigger by now.
But i think your right,i just need to be patient and i agree with the not feeding and just having the good nutrients in the soil, thats what i did with my last successful plant ,but that was years ago
