600w HPS Lighting Question. Total Newbie so please be gentle

Hi to all the Cannabis crew. This is my first ever post for my first ever grow. Just a quick Question. When my Light first starts it emits a nice bright ice looking white around my grow tent. Temp inside tent at start up is not far off 20 degrees c. When I sometimes have a quick look in by unziping the doors i can clearly see that its more of a amber/red glow. Tent Temp is normally in the range of around 25 to 28 degress C. If i then stand there with the doors 1/4 way unzipped it will then change back to the ice white glow.

Is this normal or have i got some lighting/ventilation problem?

I apologise if this is normal and have wasted any of your time in answering this question.

    Many thanks Kidchemistry

HPS lights emit high levels of red/yellow spectrum compared to most regular light bulbs. When you first look in your tent coming from a darker space, your eyes register the red/yellow light first because it lower on the spectrum.. once your eyes have a few seconds to adjust to the brighter light.. They will pick up the white and blue light and will gradually tune themselves to pick up the full spectrum of the light.. so it will appear that your lights are changing colour... but in actuality.. its just your eyes adusting to the VERY bright light... Keep in mind.. that 600W bulb puts out 10X+ more light than a standard 60W bulb.. so your eyes just arent used to seeing that drastic of a difference in light... Doesnt sound like there is a problem imo :-)
    Cheers!
I grow food.. Not weed.. But I like weed.. So I will help you grow it as best I can ;-)
