Drug Test Today

Thought I might give another anecdotal situation to lend anyone who may be going through the same thing something to read. So, to give you a little history I'm 22, 5'7 and about 140lbs. I smoked pretty heavily for about three months straight, a little less than an eighth a week. I left my current job in favor for a much better career, though I knew I would be needing to get drug tested, today. I've been clean for about 20 days. 9 days in I took a home test, (not first morning, didn't think of it then) and it came up negative. I hadn't been drinking fluids heavily, so I figured if I were to give a lab a void it would probably be consistent with what I tested myself on. Yesterday I took another home test, this time producing a line almost as dark as the control. I know that it does not really matter but it is still comforting to see. Anyway, I plan on lightly diluting, not overdoing it. Going to have a few cups of coffee, a few glasses of water and the liquid from my ramen bowl, then, piss about 4-5 times over the next couple hours and go take my test. I will update this topic to let you know whether I passed or failed - I'm feeling fairly confident but as always a nerve wracking experience.

Well I just took it. Drank probably about 4-5 glasses of water/coffee over the four hour period preceding the test, so most likely somewhere in the range of 32-40oz. I Don't think that is too much. My urine is usually clear even if I don't drink a lot, but it was fairly clear with a light yellow color, consistent with my normal voids throughout the day. I will update when I know the results, wish me luck!

Hate to reply to my own thread a billion times, but I have a question and would prefer to put it in here rather than start a new thread. My main cause of concern with my drug test was coming up dilute, I'm not really all that concerned about it being positive but I would rather just have the whole ordeal over with. If I were to have a dilute specimen, how long would it take for them to find out? If it were reported as Negative - dilute, would they call me or just send it off to the employer?

On non-DOT testing situations, the party that pays for the test gets the first dibs on the results. If the MRO does contact you, then consider it a service on the MROs part and not an obligation.

So does that mean even if I am positive they would not contact me? I was under the impression that they would at least conduct an interview to see if there were any other reasonable medical explanations for turning up positive. I took the test on Thursday, it is now Sunday. I checked and the Lab is open on Sunday, so this would make it the third day that they have not contacted me. I will take it as a good sign, however I will not start back up until I receive some sort of confirmation from the employer. I do not think I could wait until my first paycheck because I do not actually start this job until February.

Well it has been 96 hours since I took my drug test, I wonder when I can assume I'm in the clear.

No, I have heard nothing which I believe to be a good thing. It has been a week. Just sent in my final paperwork by mail yesterday, two day shipping. I will call tomorrow and ask if they received the paperwork, and if they need anything else. If they say that they don't need anything else from me I will assume I passed the drug test. I can't use the usual when is my start-date approach as I already know I start in February, and I'm not waiting that long to begin smoking again.
