:thumbsup:I recently moved (from this side of the County Line off 138). We have members from that area and I believe there is an active either Norml or ASA (Americans for Safe Access), in the Lancaster area. However, there are now meetings in Victorville..once a month, with MAPP. And a support group for patients, lead by Grandpa Tom (which I try to attend, as well).
If it were me, I'd go to both meetings...In fact, it may be approximately, equal distance for you, either VV or Riverside. Most likely about the same time for the drive, as well! Either way, you will have to travel 'blood alley' (hwy 138). I have been to the Victorville meetings, they are held on the other side of Hesperia, almost to the Marianna's.
Having worked in the High Desert ER's, I prefer to drive anywhere, except the HIGH Desert, too many alcoholics on the roads.
Looking at the w...maps.c Many collectives have opened up, in that area. The biggest problem is, from what I understand, Landlords sending eviction notice's to the vendors, as a result of the Feds threatening to take the property.
There is a nice group in Victorville/Hesperia, mostly patient growers, collectives and delivery services. Lanny speaks, in VV, once a month, I think it is the 3rd Thursday, but you can find it in the Newsletter.
I like both groups; Well honestly, I've been to all the group meetings, at one time or another. I realized, I enjoy these and look forward to them, more than I did Church (however, I had more duties at Church, so this is much more fun, naturally)!
There are a few patient/growers from your area, when we have special speakers!
Sure wish there were a motel across the street from the Riverside clinic/center, I would enjoy it, even more! I have to be feeling pretty bad to miss a meeting.
Last months speaker was Martin Lee, author of Smoke Signals! It was a really great meeting. There is a radio show on Monday evenings, you can link in from the internet; And another on Thursdays, about sports and weed. I haven't listened to that one yet, but I am in love with the guys that run the show! If I were a younger person...I have met my dance partner! LOL
Right now are the most exciting times...I am glad, I get to be a part of this. It seems strange to have ended my profession, which was a passion and to focus on Medicinal Marijuana, as my favorite passion, for my age!
The Center/Clinic is close to the I-10 and I-15 North/West side of Riverside. We have members of all ages and disease/illness. You cannot imagine, how great it feels, to be around a bunch of Medicinal Marijuana patients, your own age!! I could never have imagined this, in my lifetime. Now, I visualize...Legalization!
