This is not from personal grow experience, just something I've witnessed.

A buddy of mine had 3 moms of Critical Jack, all 3 were about 3 months old, and all had been topped about 4 times using FIM, they were just under 2.5' tall in veg when he decided he was going to flower them out, this was in a 12x12 room with 4 1k watt HPS lamps, DWC setup. Each of the moms produced about 8 great cola's, and total harvest weight per plant was just over 550 grams - I personally feel they were harvested way late after the swell, but he does prefer CBD over THC - At any rate, he produced very, very, very dense crystallized buds.

He used the FF trio for nutes, I'd have to ask to confirm which I'll do tomorrow, but I think his PH was either 6.2 or 6.3 for the entire grow, humidity at around 35% (a little higher than I like) and he does lollypop (I don't). He didn't scrog or LST them, he just let them go.

They were monster bushes, finished at about 5.9' I think, I know one cola was just over my head, and I'm 6'1. His room temps were right around 80-83 degrees. Again, a little higher than I like, but it works for him. Those are the largest I've seen in person in an indoor grow. I've seen 16' sativas outside before pulling down 600 grams easy with no topping, or lst - But those are like 12-16 week flowering times, and typically with ALOT of work put into the soil. I haven't seen a forest of those, just here and there.

I'm working on powerbud now which I picked up for the yield, I'm using CFL cabinets, but I'm still hoping to get 450 grams per 5 gallon bucket. Its a short photo period, and a very nute thirsty plant I'll be topping each one twice before going into flower, and I'll be utilizing LST.
low_rdr Reviewed by low_rdr on . maximizing yield (Not worried about height) what are best techniques? In my grow space my lights can go up to about 8 feet so my canopy can go up to about 6.5 feet using 600hps/mh lamps, so I am not so worried about keeping my canopy down. most techniques I read about are SOG, SCROG, and Pruning to to keep canopy down low, but I am not really worried about that as much, so would I mostly just be looking at topping the plants, and lollipopping them for maximum yield? What are so other growth techniques where height is not a major issue? Rating: 5
