can you alter the dark and light hours?
I have a perpetual grow going but my veg room has out paced my one to three plants into flower a week pace. I also just want to finish out this strain. So I am going to flip my veg room to flower to so both rooms are on same time on and off so I dont have to mess with light leaks from one room to the other either. My flower room is light tight but my veg isnt.
Now onto my question. Can I alter what hours are the dark hours in my flower room? I.E. I'm on a 9am to 9 pm lights on cycle but would like to flip it so its lights on 8 pm to 8 am. will that hurt the plants already flowering?GanjaGooch Reviewed by GanjaGooch on . can you alter the dark and light hours? can you alter the dark and light hours?
hey bro, didnt really understand the beginning part of ur post? if ur flower room is tight it shouldnt matter the other ones leaks provided a dark room? but with your question i read on another forum that u gotta leave her in the dark for 24hours before u make the change, in ur case 37, if ur early on in flower it will probably just mess with her hormones a bit but after a few days should be fine, at the end of the day she is a weed and if everything else is spot on, should work out
hopefully someone will follow up with the science behind it, good luckEveryone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid- Albert Einstein

can you alter the dark and light hours?
I'm really new at this but have been reading non stop since long before I started. So perhaps someone can give me some back up or a safer method. Ive had to do similar and what I did was alter the on off time equally by a half hour till I was in sink. I do it that way mainly because it seems extra safe from what know. I'd try an hour a day even just to get it over with sooner. really your giving them the same light on time. just sneaking out some sleepy time. I'd be interested on some more opinions my self on how much this really maters. I don't know how hard it is to make them hermaphrodites. Ive read both that its easy and hard. I'm thinking genetic background has a fair bit to do with it.

No issue with what you want to do. I recommend leaving lights off for 24 hours, as opposed to leaving lights on for 24 hours. Doing this once in a while will not hurt your photo period as far as the plants are concerned. It takes more than 1 day for plants to realize that you flowered them.

can you alter the dark and light hours?
i thought that bout one day for the plants to notice, but seems the hormones start to change as soon plant is exposed to set time of 'night' so if u flip 12/12 ur plant will notice in that 24 hours, takes bout a 5/7 days for visual, changing the time of 12/12 when already on 12/12 by having anothe 12 hours light will make it think its going back to veg thus stressing it, wont really make a massive affect on growth/yield but less stress is best:jointsmile: if u need to change the times.. do it the dark

can you alter the dark and light hours?
Simple rule here.
If the plants are in, or going in, flower, -long night.
If they are vegging and will continue to veg, -long day.
To understand why, look up photo-period.

can you alter the dark and light hours?
Fantastic. Now that makes perfect sense. So for flower don't exceed 12 hrs light and do what you need to do to change the scheduled by altering the dark time.(preferable longer not shorter right) And as for veg its the opposite. Is this correct?

can you alter the dark and light hours?
Um, no.
Not to put too fine a point on, it but exceeding 12 hours of light is not the problem.
Photoperiod is controlled by hours of dark, period.
Best to think of it that way.
Again, look it up in the archives here.

So what is your point? I advised to keep lights off in order to change time off day.
And; If you want to change over your lights on/off schedule you err on the side of darkness; As I said.
