can you alter the dark and light hours?
thanks for the replys!!
As to the first part of my post. I have a side by side veg and flower. My flower room has a flap I open during light hours to help let in fresh air and lower the humidity. When I put both into flower I wont have to keep up with opening and closing that flap. I needed no flap for the veg room since when its dark for the few hours it is I have it in sinc with the flower darkness.
The 24 hours dark before the switch makes the most sence so I'll go with that one.
I'll add some photos once my flower comes on. Once I finish this all out I will be better informed with how to clone. I think I got too happy with cloning and made far too many clones all at once. I just went for broke cause i went from a small closet to my wife letting me take over a whole room in the basement!! After the first 3 months she was like "if I had known you could have done this much, this well, this fast I would have let ya do it years ago!! I'll be on my 4th year in 2013 with my MMJ card woot!!
Thanks again for the replys!!

just read that if you leave your plant in total darkness for 36 hours before the switch that it can significantly induces flowering in the plant, quicker bud development from the start, maybe an extra weeks growth in your flowering time:thumbsup: i think this i will try. good luck

Howzit HTY?
This sounds like an experiment that is worth doing right.
Allow me a suggestion.
If you can do so, please do a side by side test.
Couple gals with a 36 hour launch, couple with straight 12:12.
Start a thread for it, taking pictures before and after
Science and logic say that an 11:13 light to dark ratio is all you need do to hasten flower set.
After 12 hours of darkness the hormones that control the inhibition of flowering are almost fully depleted.
So, logic says that adding a "safety hour" of darkness might speed the appearance of pistils.
Once they are in flower, changing back to 12:12, or even 13:11 will provide more light energy during the flower stage.
But if you don't try this 36 hour experiment you'll add another unresolved wondering to this mess in my mind.
(Keep in mind the "dark time" trigger threshold will vary with the strain.)

hey weezard!
good over here dude
i hear ya on the unresolved issue lol, experiments and different methods of training and growing intrigue me greatly, some might say a secret geek, i read a lot of reports ect but doing it yourself i find just gives you that extra piece of mind when u actually experience the results.
i will be trying this, but on the next crop, unfortunately i am already a week today into flower atm with my girls already.
yes to all on your suggestion tho, if ur gonna do it, do it properly. i have another 7 weeks minimal in flower and wont be putting any into veg for a few weeks, maybe if anybody is reading this and interested and due to flower soon could start it sooner and others and i could add there results too it, ill keep a look out and if nothing then i will step up closer the time
and  weezard, i didnt know about the different 'dark time' trigger threshold with varying strains, when i try this i will make sure there all the same strain and from the same seed company.
now i guess i need to find a strain thats blows me away enough that i dont mind growing 4 of them :jointsmile:Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid- Albert Einstein
