Hey guys, so here is my story. I was never a heavy smoker before this summer, mostly because I competed on the Cross Country team at school. There is no way I wasn't clean back in May just because of all the running I did and all the smoking I (mostly) missed out on. From June - November I was probably averaging 3-4 bowl packs a week with some breaks in between (2 week break in August, 17 day break September-October, etc.). Anyway, today is my 12th straight day of not smoking and I had an interview on Monday, and the next step is the drug test. My one friend who is a heavy smoker guessed that I would be clean by now just because of my small build (5'9, 150 pounds, very skinny from years of running). Not the case - I bought a FirstCheck test from CVS yesterday and I came up positive.

I completely understand that this takes time, and I've read everything on the internet. I didn't dilute the sample at all yesterday because I wanted to see if there was a line on the test even without chugging water an hour before the test. This is probably an impossible question to ask, but do you think there is any period of time that I can expect to be clean by? I understand the 30-day thing, but I have a very fast metabolism and there is no way that my body fat is higher than 8-9%. I'm going to call the employer today and come up with some excuse for why I can't test until Monday, which would be the 17th or 18th day of me being clean. Of course, I have a weird situation (never smoked much before this summer) so any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thanks for reading!
