Your also using Nirvana, I'm using Seedsman - They are different genetics, and my pheno might have more indica attributes than yours, I'm putting one in flower in about a month, and I'll put some pics up of her. I flower them for a full 14-15 weeks, with the last two weeks in complete darkness and give it about 2200 PPM cO2 in the final stretch. My hairs are 100% brown (not red) when I harvest, and my trichs are mostly amber. - There are only a few nirvana strains I'm a fan of, bubblicious is one of those.

Also, if you look up images of seedsman white widow vs nirvana white widow, you can definitely see a genetic difference. If this is your first experience with WW, take it easy at first, one good bong rip and give it a few minutes before you go again, this is one of those strains that can really get your head spinning if you don't take it easy, of course, different pheno than mine, so might be a different effect there as well.
When trichomes start to turn amber; The thc is decaying. Yes, you will get a more sleepy or couchlock effect when the trichomes are predominatly amber. So,it is best to harvest this type of genetics when the trichomes are predominantly cloudy. Whebn clear trichomes are a vessel for thc. It is not until they are cloudy they actually contain the thc you are expecting in order to experience the potency you are looking for.

I agree that the earlier you harvet form clear trichomes, to partly cloudy trichomes to clear, cloudy, and amber trichomes; the more you lose the "up" high and gravitate towards sleepy time. If you wait until all trichomes or majority are amber; you have passed the ultimate potency level and will get sleepy instead of energetic.

You can buy a nice hand held pocket magnifier for about $10.00 at radio shak, or online somewhere, to look at your trichomes and determine the % of clear cloudy or ambner trichomes. This is the only way to truly judge as to when you need to flush, and harvest. There is no exact measurement in weeks to determine when to harvest.

Funny. I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure I have read low rdr say; "I harvest when trichs are mostly cloudy", And here he says, "I harvest when trichs are mostly amber". Perhaps he is making a different choice depending on strain. I always harvest when trichomes are mostly cloudy; Giving you the most potent and healthy uplifting type effect that any genetics can give.

One final note. co2 should never be applied over about 1500 ppm. And; Especially not in the final 2 weeks when you are trying to flush minerals, toxins, etc... from your plants. Plants overdosed with co2 can be harmed just as bad as if you dose them with nutrients at too high a ppm level regardless of time in grow. So; In theory; You would not fertilize or apply co2 after you start your flush period.

    Hope this helps.

Last year; I got to talk with the guy who originally developed white Widow. black Widow is the same thing, because Both are from genetics created by 1 with another persons help. They split up, and One renamed the astrain Black Widow. Most WW strains sold are counterfiet or possibly from genetics derived from the original. I will try and find the correspondence I had, but a major forum crashed and a lot of data was lost; So, I don't know if this conversation is still stored in my Profile.

I would not suggest trying to grow White Widow from anyone until you are more experienced. It is widely known to be tough to grow.

Ak47, Skunk #1, and Blueberry by Dutch Passion are real easy to grow and are especially nice when finished properly. Another thing about these 3 strains; All 3 finish between 6-9 weeks. Might be a good idea to try and steer clear of Sativa until you are more confident in your growing, because some Sativa strains can take 12-14 weeks to finish, and you will go crazy, waiting. Peace

I agree on the PPM of Co2, I also agree that I have said I harvest when trichs are just turning cloudy - I did not define that I treat different strains in other ways. When I smoke WW, unless it's in a spliff, I can't handle much at a time when it's harvested cloudy, and I really enjoy my blunts, but blunts with a lot of cigar tobacco can have a really sickening effect, so I leave my WW for longer, which is also why I put so much Co2 into it, and I water cure my WW which is why I feed and pump co2 in until the end, to reach MY desired effect, I love this strain, but in order for me to partake in the fashion I prefer, I need to make some changes to the ending effect and flavor (via co2, darkness, and the cure) - I hope this clears a few things up.

I couldn't imagine a 5g blunt of WW harvested cloudy - I'd be up for days.

Made this bigger for you bite, hope its big enough

Thanks for the clarification. I figured as such.

Thanks for the big font. I use the magnifier in Windows to help, too. Macular Degeneration sucks.

    GM-
I have had several successful closet grows, and would like to help if u have any questions. I am currently growing with 100% cfl bulbs 23 watt to 45 watt. Everyone says to keep the lights 1 to 3 inches away. from my experience, 6 inches away for vegging, and 8 to 12 inches away for flowering. With my setup, any closer would burn the leaves, or fry the bud hairsAttachment 288484
It is also important to add lighting as your plant grows and thickens up. CFLs are not good at having strong light penetration, so to maximize your harvest yield, use top and side lightAttachment 288485
any questions, I would be happy to give my 2 cents. but please remember that one persons advice may work great for them, but not so well in your situation. OR NOT. My suggestion is to get all the opinions you can on any pertinent subject. Use common sense, and do your thing. GOOD GROWING TO YOU

Well I started to flower my plants...so far (I think) I have one girl and one boy..jury is still out on the third. Had a 400 watt HPS given to me so using that to flower. Germinated 3 more and now have 3 seedlings under CFL. Here's hoping my third is a girl!! Thank you so very much for all the help getting me this far!!! ~GM

    It might be OK.
Cannabis is tough, it can take a joke.
Just slow down on the watering. Less leaf mass = less transpiration.
No forget to thank the toddler for "thinning" the lower branches for you.
After you limit access, of course.

    Aloha,

    Weeze
