SUPPORT NEEDED[/align] There is so much going on that two important marijuana related events are happening on the same day and at the same time.

In the last email information was provided on petitioning and rallying for Paul Schrader to replace the soon-to-be gone current SB Co. Sheriff Rod Hoops. Hoops was no friend of ours and he is trying to appoint someone in the sheriff??s office who will carry on his tradition of mmj hostility. Deputy Sheriff Paul Schrader is a strong advocate for enforcing state law and supporters of Paul Schrader, who came in second in the election that brought Hoops to power, are organizing a rally on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 10 a.m. at the SB County Board of Supervisors to show support for having Schrader appointed to finish out Hoops term. The rally is being held at the San Bernardino County Government Building at 385 N. Arrowhead Avenue in downtown San Bernardino, CA 92415. Your show of support is important and your presence at the rally and at the SB Co. Board meeting will showcase the broad community support for appointing Scharder SB Co. Sheriff.

[/align] If you live in San Bernardino County and have not signed the petition asking the County to appoint Deputy Sheriff Schrader to the position of SB Co. Sheriff, there is still time. You can go to the website to the sign the petition by CLICKING HERE. If you have friends or others who live in SB Co. and have not signed the petition, please forward it to them and ask them to sign it.

[align=center] [/align] On that same day, Letitia Pepper is facing a disbarment hearing before the California Bar for her spirited defense of a woman whose child was taken away by Children Protective Services because of her use of marijuana. It??s a very complex case, but for Letitia to be facing disbarment because her legal counsel for the patient upset the Judge handling the case is beyond the pale.

As usual, having supporters in the courtroom is always beneficial. Her case is being heard in Los Angeles, but if you can go, or if you can contact some friends in Los Angeles who could be there for court support, it would greatly appreciated by Letitia. Her trial is on also on Tuesday, November 27, and begins at 9:45 am at 1149 S. Hill Street (near 17th Street, in the AT&T building) in Los Angeles.

[/align] Many of you know Scott Bledsoe as the person who sued SB County for refusing to issue the state mmj ID cards and won when the U.S. Supreme Court rejected their appeal of their loss at the California Supreme Court. Well now he wants to sue the feds for civil rights violations and return of property after he and a companion were stopped and interrogated at a Border Patrol checkpoint near El Paso Texas after Scott refused to allow his car to be searched and when the Border Patrol searched it any way, they found about 10 ounces of quality marijuana.

After 8 hours of interrogation and being confined to a holding cell Scott was released because, according to the Border Patrol agent who released Scott ??Obama called and said we have to let you go."

At the Wednesday, December 6 MAPP meeting in Riverside, Scott will relate the whole bizarre story of his interrogation, imprisonment and eventual release. Scott, who is no slouch when it comes to knowledge of the law, will explain the legal intricacies in the whole imbroglio and his planned course of action to retrieve both his marijuana and his rights as an American citizen.

The Wednesday, Dec. 6 Riverside MAPP meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Presto Quality Care Medical Clinic (formerly THCF Medical Clinic) at 647 Main St., Riverside 92501. Light refreshments will be served.

Scott may have been messing with Texas at the Border Patrol checkpoint, but we??re also going to be messing with Texas this Monday on our award winning radio show Marijuana Compassion & Common Sense. Our first featured guest from the Lone Star State is Shaun McAllister, Director of the Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of NORML. With some of the most draconian marijuana laws in the country and a red state social conservatism ambiance, Texas seems like pretty hostile territory to be advocating for marijuana legalization. Or is it?

Shaun McAllister will address that issue head on by talking about what NORML is doing to change that image of Texas. We will also ask him about how Texans are reacting to Colorado and Washington??s legalization of marijuana? After all Texas Is a big booster for state??s rights.

Our 2nd guest from Texas is Pete Moreono, but what he is doing is not in Texas. Ruthie Heavrin, a student at LaSierra University, a 7th Day Adventist College in Riverside, will be making a presentation entitled The Battle Over Medical Marijuana.
The presentation will begin at 1:00 P.M. in the Visual Arts Center on the La Sierra University Campus, 4500 Riverwalk Parkway, Riverside, CA 92515. Security at the front entrance will provide direction to the Visual Arts Center. Everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

Saturday, Dec. 1
WORLD AIDS DAY seminars on Medical Marijuana and AIDS. There will be two presentations featuring Tom Place, director of Aids Alternative Health Association and creator of Grandpa Tom??s Medical Marijuana Tincture.

The first seminar on Saturday, December 1 begins at 11:30 a.m. and is held at Crystal Fantasy, 268 N. Palm Canyon, in downtown Palm Springs 92262.

This second seminar on Saturday, December 1 begins at 2 p.m. and is held at the new Jtopia Artist Residential Colony located at 61850 Chollita in Joshua Tree 92252. The Jtopia Artist Residential Colony is a cannabis friendly community.

??Beyond THC: Cannabidiol (CBD) and the Future of Medical Marijuana? presented by Martin Lee, author of Smoke Signals: A Social History of Marijuana ?? Medical, Recreational and Scientific and director of Project CBD, a non-profit educational service dedicated to promoting and publicizing research into the medical utility of cannabidiol (CBD) and other components of the Cannabis plant.

The presentation on CBD??s will be made on Friday, December 7 beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Presto Quality Care (formerly THCF Medical Clinic) at 647 Main St., Riverside CA 92501. Admission is free and the general public is invited to attend as well as mmj patients.
