    Young Seedling LARGE Fan Leaves

New to growing , I got 4 growing from germination under normal lights about to put in proper grow room/lights tomorrow for veg and i noticed one has 2 BIG fat 5 tip leaves comming out the 3rd node from the bottom. Like the other 3 are small n skinny . Is this any indication on quaility or sex? this site wont let me upload pics :hippy:ALSO anyone have tips on ways to early take out the male before any pollination occurs THANKS

I highly recommend you go through the Grow FAQ and look at some of the stickies throughout the site. There is a TON of info on here and extremely helpful!!

If you haven't even started veggin yet it's going to be a few weeks before you can tell the sex. But when it's vegged long enough to look for early sex, look at the nodes on the plant. If there is a cluster of balls it's a male. If there is a calyx with white pistils shooting out of it it's a female. From what I have read (and I'm not 100% on this) you have roughly one week from when the "balls" show before it pollinates the females. I took mine out two days after it started really showing.

    Here's a link that I hope will help: http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-faqs...ur-plants.html

As far as guessing sex based on the leaves..I've read where people say they can determine sex that way and people say you can't. I'm far to new to even wager if they can or can't. You could possibly have an indica and 3 sativa. Indica grow short and wide and sativa grow tall and thin..Happy growing!

You've got plenty of time from the day the sacs on a male start to show before they actually pop open. I've been waiting 3 days already on my sacs to pop

As far as one plant looking different, this is no indication of quality or sex, but more indication of different phenotypes. If you have a mostly sativa plant, this seedling might be showing the indica attributes. Can it taste different? Yes - However, this also might be the only good phenotype of all your seedlings, it sounds as if your unsure of the genetics. Let me give you an example:

I popped 2 powerbud looking for the phenotype I wanted which is a very quick veg stage (1 to 2 weeks) and a straight shot up top as soon as it goes into flower. both my powerbuds I cracked popped right away (leaves showing within 30 hours and about 1/2" above the pod) both filled the solo cups in less than a week, and gave a good 4" diameter.

I tossed these straight into flower, and both did exactly what they were supposed to do - so I cloned both for my moms, and I'll take the weaker clone and flower it, this way I know exactly what to expect from my clones, including clone strength.

If you have 1 plant that doesn't look the same, there is a reason, either unstable genetics, or a rare phenotype showing through.

Once again on pollination, you have plenty of time from when the sacs appear to get the plant out, like I said, I've been waiting a few days already for my sacs to pop (and yes, I want the pollen)
