I went from seeing you as a glowing prophet when you said "Make your own meaning then live it" to seeing you as some stoned 15 year old who read that in a book.

I plan on leaving my mark on the world by pissing on stuff.

LoL naw, no book. It just makes sense though. Why search for meaning exterior to one's self. Then you're just imposing someone else's meaning on your life, instead of making your own.

take a look at this its a near-death experience from a guy who died and walked with Jesus ( a great ball of light ) and if you read the whole high you will do some definite thinking - imagine ( this is what the bible says ) You're to live your life for God and what you do on earth directs you to where you'll be in death for eternity which Is God... anyways read the story - this guy wrote a book on his "death" and its pretty crazy he writes that jesus showed him "hell" but really this hell was in the dead souls' own minds... i.e. alcoholics die and spend their eternity in their own hell on earth - theyd try to drink whiskey or beer or w/e but they couldnt grasp (literally) the drinks/glasses, so basically their hell was not being able to have the most addicting, biggest sin that affected their lives - but trying...for ever, and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever etc. - read it its pretty crazy

Here's my thought on this kind of stuff- Human often forget that 'meaning' and 'purpose' are concepts MADE by humans. Now, I don't have any psychic power or anything like that, so I can't read the mind of animals, but if you ask me they never seem to worry about the meaning of life, or if there is no meaning for that matter. That's because the idea and concept of meaning is, as far as I know, only shared by humans, and maybe a few sign-language abled apes (sorry, it's just my nature to joke). So if there is no such thing as 'meaning' or 'purpose', well, it's a little tricky to find something that really only exsists in our minds.

Many people find it really concerning that there may be no meaning or purspose to anything we do or to our lives. Myself, I find it quite comforting. It doesn't mean I don't beleive anything will happen after I die, it doesn't mean I don't beleive there's a God or gods... In fact maybe on some level this whole 'meaning' thing is a God-made concept! It doesn't even mean that don't believe perhaps we're all part of one big conciousness experiencing itself subjectively, or that we're all 'energy balls' or anything like that. It just merely means that I think life just 'is'. Obviously we're alive right now, why fret about it? Why fret about why when there is no why?

Well said, however don't burden your thoughts with useless concepts of 'God' or life after death. But if you continue on your path of thinking, you'll come to that realization yourself.

I must say I've never quite felt 'burdened' by thoughts of God or life after death, rather I've enjoyed such thoughts. I think they are quite valid concepts to think about... I probably wouldn't have come to the conculsion that "no meaning isn't a bad thing" had I not thought of such concepts. I just make sure not to 'overthink' things like that, y'know, letting such thoughts run my life. I think about what God or an afterlife might be like, or what I'd like them to be like, but really one day I will die and I'll find out whether such things exsist or not anyway so I never let it worry me.

This is exactly why i see little point in working a deskjob in a cubicle the size of a bathroom for the rest of my life. Millions of people waste their lives with their day-to-day, sterotypical, robot drone, BULLSHIT!!! life has no purpose people, its a mistake, some dust collided in the atmosphere a few million years ago and we are the result of that, sorry if you feel insignificant but you are we are born, we live for a few dozen years, we die and we rot in the ground. None of this 'heaven and hell' BS i hear from my dad, its all crap lol Its kind of sad because i see all these people droning to work in a cubicle to support their family and buy nice stuff, then they die and thats the end, which is why i could care less if i smoke myself to death by 25 life is pointless, after life their is nothing, and living your life under a premise of a higher figure is just S-T-U-P-I-D! im going to have fun with my short time here, while people like my dad work their ass off infront of a computer all day to barely make ends meet and die to leave a huge bill to his wife -- sorry im goin out in a bang and im goin out with one of two things in my mouth - a pipe or a cigarette ,V,, dont waste your life -- enjoy it while it lasts

i think our minds make up time. it can make a second seem like a billion years. so say your about to die, in the 1 second of your last breath, you can live an infinate ammount of lives. it's pretty much reincarnation. i dont really understand what i'm saying right now cuz i'm not high. but thats what i would say if i was high.

I don't think Mellow Man is talking about his own life, I interpert it as no matter how far society progresses, no matter how many questions we answer, at some point its all going to end and start over again. By that logic I agree with the no meaning to life, but how do we know that logic is correct. My thoughts lean me more towards a universal reincarnation that at some point will stabalize. This could very well be the reincarnation that stabalizes and even if not we still have impacted the future reincarnations, so I say there is a meaning to life...
