Another "How do I hang my light" Thread

Hi everyone,



New guy here. I don't grow marijuana, but I am still very much an indoor grower; I grow bonsai (miniature trees). They're Ficus so I have no choice but to grow them indoors during winter. I've been using T5HO 4 foot, 4 bulb lights for a while now, but recently bought a 250W metal halide with a built in ballast. I'm having a whale of a time trying to figure out how to suspend it above my trees. Living with my parents still, I'm not really able to drill holes into the ceiling or stick a piece of plywood up there (they're not big fans out that idea). So I'd really like to get ideas on what kind of stand I can build to hang the light from. I thought about PVC, but was afraid it'd be too flimsy to hold the 20 lbs. or so light. Any thoughts on what kind of stand I can build/buy??

buy a grow tent. not sure how big ur trees get but the grow tents can get bigger then 6 feet tall. They have strong tubes that u can hang ur light on. Depending on where u get them u could find them for as little as 140 dollars for the really good 4 foot by 4 foot by 6 feet tall. Virtual Sun makes them the best I think.

hang from a trapeze made from steel conduit and fittings. it will free stand without attaching to structure.
I had to use a steel pipe suspended from two horizontal supports.
